Our Thanksgiving was pretty busy this year; we had guests from all over the world. We spent a lot of time and energy planning and shopping, preparing and cooking, serving, and cleaning up (there's still a little bit of that left to do!).
The punchline for this cartoon is based on a gag written and drawn by my friend and fellow Mormon cartoonist Arie Van De Graaff. This is sort of a reimagining of his original. I give him full writing credit -- whether he wants it or not!

Yes, I do think they had some sort of Thanksgiving celebration back in Nephite times. It was Alma who said, "live in thanksgiving daily" and the idea of a holiday to express gratitude for the harvest is common among many cultures -- although our guest from Paris did say, "In France we do not give thanks." But I don't think that's what she really meant...
Nice job on the strip. Yours is definitely an improvement over the original.
